Design and production of fire booster pumps

Booster pumps are known as the heart of fire extinguishing systems. These booster pumps start their activity in a fraction of a second after the command of the control panel due to the occurrence of fire and provide the high-pressure water needed by the sprinklers on the floors to prevent the fire from spreading and extinguishing it. Booster pumps have different types and are designed and manufactured in different working ranges depending on the engineering characteristics of the place of use.

In Tehran, buildings are divided into three categories S1, S2 & S3 by the Tehran Fire Department. This classification is based on the height and area of buildings, which determines what type of booster pump with what features should be built for each class of building. It is on this basis that the capacity, the number of lines, the power of electric motors and other equipment change.

Booster pumps are also made in two main classes, variable speed and fixed speed.

Fixed speed fire pump boosters operate at a constant speed and are usually designed to provide a constant flow rate and pressure. They are typically used in applications where the flow and pressure requirements of the fire protection system are relatively constant and predictable. Constant speed fire pump boosters are simple, reliable and require little maintenance. On the other hand, variable speed fire pump boosters operate at different speeds to provide variable flow rates and pressures. They are usually designed to adjust the speed of the pump motor in response to changes in the flow rate and pressure required by the fire protection system.

ariable speed pumps are usually used in applications where the flow and pressure requirements of the fire protection system are variable and unpredictable. They can provide energy savings and reduce the amount of wasted energy by adjusting the pump speed to match the actual demand.

Booster pumps are generally used in high-rise buildings, industrial facilities, and remote locations.

These systems usually consist of electric pumps, jockey pumps, pressure gauges, all kinds of one-way valves and OS&Y, etc., shock absorbers and other equipment.
